In a post on the X social media platform, Nawrocki voiced gratitude for the trust placed in him, calling his election to Poland's presidency a "great responsibility and obligation."

"I accept this decision with humility and respect," he said. "Your votes made me president. I will do everything in my power to live up to your expectations."

Nawrocki pledged to advocate for a strong and secure Poland—a nation that supports its most vulnerable citizens, upholds its centuries-old traditions, and commands respect in international, European and transatlantic affairs.

"We want to live in a safe, economically strong country that cares for the weakest among us, a state that matters on the international stage. A nation that honours its rich heritage and history," he wrote. "You can be sure that I won’t let any issue important to Poland and its people go unanswered."

Nawrocki, a pro-Trump Eurosceptic, won 50.89 percent of the vote in Sunday's election, while his centrist rival Rafał Trzaskowski garnered 49.11 percent, according to the National Electoral Commission (PKW).

The president-elect, backed by the conservative opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, said he felt the support of his base every day on the campaign trail.

“Thank you for every vote cast for me, for every kind word and gesture, for all your expressions of support in this incredibly difficult fight for Poland," Nawrocki said. "We won this together, for the good of our beloved homeland."

Nawrocki also thanked his family for standing by him throughout the campaign.

He is set to be sworn into office on August 6, when outgoing President Andrzej Duda's second term officially ends.
